
Her Excellency Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada, presents the 1999 Michener Award for Meritorious Public Service in Journalism to Curt Petrovich, representing CBC National Radio News, Winnipeg, for reporting on a vote-splitting scheme in the1995 Manitoba General Election.
The investigation into the illegal actions by senior government officials, including some of the Premier’s top advisors began in the fall of 1997 with the first elements of the story broadcast in June of 1998.
CBC Radio was honoured during a ceremony held at Rideau Hall in Ottawa, April 10, 2000.
